Copy of a report of a formal investigation into the circumstances attending the stranding of the steam trawler ‘Nellie’, of North Shields, at or near Rattray Head, Aberdeenshire, on 24th March 1898, whereby loss of life ensued

the unfortunate trawler suffered engine failure and stranded on a lee shore near Rattray Head, with loss of all crew.
much of the report refers to the efforts or otherwise of the Lifeboat and Rocket Apparatus rescue services
Steam Trawler ‘North Breeze’ – Bill of Sale
standard bill of sale form (Form no.10) recording the 1881 sale of two shares in the steam trawler ‘North Breeze’ to William Carnie of Aberdeen. dated 15th April 1892.
the ‘North Breeze’ was built at Aberdeen in 1891 by Hall Russell & Co. and was a single screw steel-hulled, schooner rigged steam trawler.
this original bill of sale measures 50x40cm and is in very good undamaged condition.
